Dear Valued Clients,
We wanted to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are relocating our business from our current Tacoma location. Starting in February 2025, we will be operating from a new space inside R&R Massage Therapy in Lakewood, Washington, conveniently located across from Clover Park High School.
Although this move was necessary, we’re excited to share that we’ve secured a larger, more spacious spot that’s still conveniently located near many of you. This new location will allow us to continue providing the exceptional service you’ve come to expect, with even more comfort and room to better serve you.
Thank you so much for your patience, support, and understanding during this transition. Your loyalty means the world to us, and we’re committed to making this move as smooth as possible.
Please note, I am in the process of updating the website, Google Maps, and posting regular updates on social media regarding the new location. In the meantime, please DO NOT go to the 6th Ave Tacoma location or the 86th Street SW these are both now old locations, as Google Maps is still in the process of verifying the new address. I will personally send you the correct address to use, so you can make sure you’re headed to the right place.
As part of this transition, I will need to pause Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage services temporarily while I set up the new space and install the necessary bars. Rest assured, I will let you know as soon as the bars are up and the services are available to book again.
We’re excited about this new chapter and can’t wait to continue serving you in our new location. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you again for your understanding and continued support!
Sincerely,
Gabrielle-Djoy Gomez, LMT, Esthetician
Owner of Mayari Beauty
Hi, I’m Djoy Gomez (pronounced “Joy”). I graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville in January 2022, where I completed their Massage Therapy Academy program. My journey into massage therapy began after years of competing in performance-based athletics.
For the past 12 years, I was an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor, and during this time, I became inspired by the benefits of bodywork and recovery within my own athletic community. My teammates and the healing practices we shared led me to pursue massage therapy as a career.
As a massage therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of athletes, including professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors, mixed martial artists, boxers, basketball players, and golfers. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the body’s needs, particularly for athletes, and have allowed me to develop specialized techniques to enhance recovery and performance.
After completing massage therapy school, I realized that many combat sports athletes, including those in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, face skin-related issues such as infections. This inspired me to pursue aesthetics, with a focus on skin health and treatment. Understanding the importance of proper skincare for athletes, I now offer services that address both recovery and skincare needs.
My approach to massage therapy and skincare is holistic—I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Personally, I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and learning how to manage the symptoms of this condition has taught me the importance of taking care of my body. This experience has deepened my understanding of the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and self-care. I apply this holistic approach to my work with clients, aiming to help you feel your best both inside and out.
Although I am no longer actively competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I still continue to practice and remain involved in the sport. In my downtime, I enjoy baking and have a passion for collecting cute trinkets. It’s important for me to stay balanced, and these hobbies help me unwind and stay grounded.
You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from bodywork or aesthetics services. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing stress, dealing with skin concerns, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I’m here to provide personalized care tailored to your unique needs.
I look forward to working with you and supporting your wellness journey, with a focus on healing, balance, and self-care.
