What to Expect:

DAXXIFY® treatment follows the same general phases as other neuromodulators, but with a meaningfully extended timeline:

Days 1-2: Initial effect begins. Results are often visible as early as the next day.
Week 4: Peak effectiveness. Nearly all patients (98%) achieve mild or no lines at this stage.
Months 2-5: Gradual softening phase. Movement and expression slowly return, but lines remain improved. The first sign of movement does not mean results have worn off - the softening period is extended.
Month 6+: At least 50% of patients in clinical studies still had mild or no frown lines at this point. Some patients maintain results even longer.

What is DAXXIFY® and how is it different from Botox or Dysport?

DAXXIFY® is a neuromodulator - like Botox and Dysport, it temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause frown lines between the eyebrows. What sets it apart is the formulation. DAXXIFY® is powered by Peptide Exchange Technology™, a proprietary peptide that replaces the human serum albumin stabilizer used in other neuromodulators. This unique formulation helps the toxin work faster and last significantly longer than convention options. While Botox and Dysport typically last a median of 3 to 4 months, at least 50% of DAXXIFY® patients in clinical studies had no or mild frown lines at 6 months after treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

DAXXIFY® works faster than most neuromodulators. Results are typically visible within 2 days - and some patients notice improvement as early as the next day. Peak effectiveness is reached at around 4 weeks, when nearly all patients achieve none or mild frown lines.

How long does DAXXIFY® last?

Results vary by individual, but clinical data shows that at least 50% of patients had no or mild frown lines 6 months after treatment. Some patients maintain results beyond that. The softening is gradual and results don't drop off suddenly, but ease back to baseline over an extended period. This means you get more total time looking your best between appointments, and many patients find they only need two treatments per year rather than three or four.

Does DAXXIFY® improve skin quality beyond just smoothing lines?

Yes, this is one of DAXXIFY®'s most notable qualities. In clinical studies 64% of patients achieved an improvement in the appearance of skin texture at week 2, and skin quality improvement was observed through week 24. This is a benefit that goes beyond what most neuromodulators deliver.

Will I need a different number of units than with Botox?

Yes! Units are not interchangeable between different neuromodulators. They are a proprietary measurement of each product's unique potency, and you cannot directly compare or convert units between DAXXIFY® and Botox, Dysport or any other neuromodulator. Dr. Wilcox will determine the appropriate dosage of DAXXIFY® for your treatment at your appointment.

Is DAXXIFY® safe?

DAXXIFY®'s safety profile has been established across the largest clinical trial program ever conducted for a frown line treatment. There were no serious treatment-related adverse events in the three DAXXIFY® clinical trials. The most commonly observed side effects were headache (6%), eyelid drooping (2%), and facial peresis (1%). As with all botulinum toxin products, there is a boxed warning regarding the potential spread of toxin effects - that information can be found below but is also available upon request at our office.

Are there patients who should avoid DAXXIFY®?

DAXXIFY® is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin prearation, or patients with an active skin infection at the planned injection site. Patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, neuromuscular disorders, or swallowing or breathing difficulties require special consideration. Tell Dr. Wilcox about all medications you're currently taking, includng any other botulinum toxin products received in the last 4 months. Dr. Wilcox will review your full medical history at your consultation.

What other treatments work well alongside DAXXIFY®?

DAXXIFY® is a neuromodulator and pairs most naturally with dermal fillers for comprehensive facial rejuvenation. DAXXIFY® handles dynamic expression lines while fillers restore volume and address static wrinkles.
