The laser uses a 1927nm thulium wavelength to target water molecules in the skin. This controlled thermal energy stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to improved texture, tone, and overall skin quality over time. 

During treatment there is a light "static-y" sensation on the skin with the lighter treatment types, ranging to a more "4th of July sparkler" sensation with the more intensive settings (although numbing can be applied to make the session much more tolerable). Most patients describe some dryness and a slight "sunburn" sensation for a few hours to a few days post treatment (again, dependent upon intensity of treatment settings), but there's no significant redness or recovery and you can return to your life right away with no need for social downtime.

No. Most patients notice brighter and more even skin immediately after treatment. It's a favorite pre-event option for patients who want refreshed skin fast.
