Plasmage® is a non-invasive fractional plasma device that uses controlled plasma energy to resurface and tighten skin without cutting, needles, or surgery. It's uniquely suited for delicate areas like the upper and lower eyelids (a place where lasers and radiofrequency devices can't safely reach without insertion of metal eye shields) making it the only device we offer that can perform non-surgical eyelid tightening, known as Blepharoplasma.
Beyond the eye area, it also treats fine lines, skin laxity, acne scarring, and textural irregularities on the face and neck.
Traditional blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess eyelid skin through incisions. This requires anesthesia, sutures, and significant recovery time. Blepharoplasma achieves similar visible tightening using fractional plasma energy with no cutting, no stitches, and considerably less downtime.
It's an excellent option for patients who want real eyelid improvement without committing to surgery.
A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, so most patients only experience mild warmth or light stinging during treatment. Afterward, you'll notice small brown micro-crusts at the treatment points along with some redness and swelling (particularly around the eye area) which typically peaks in the first 48 hours or so. The micro-crusts take about 5-10 days to naturally flake off. Most patients feel comfortable returning to normal activities within about a week.
Many patients see meaningful improvement after a single session. As healing progresses over 1 to 2 weeks, improvement becomes visible. Full results, including the collagen remodeling effect, are apparent at around 3 months.
Patients with more severe laxity may benefit from a second session 8 to 12 weeks after the first. Dr. Wilcox and her team can recommend a personalized plan at your consultaiton.
Plasmage is well suited for patients with mild to moderate eyelid laxity who want to avoid surgery, and patients with fine lines, skin laxity, or textural concerns on the face or neck.
Plasmage® may not be appropriate for patients with very dark skin tones due to hyperpigmentation risk. It also may be inappropriate for those prone to keloid scarring, those with active skin infections in the treatment area, or those currently on blood thinners. A thorough consultation will confirm candidacy.
Plasmage® fits wonderfully into a broader rejuvenation plan. It works very well in conjunction with exosome therapies (which support healing and amplify results), neuromodulators (such as Botox) which complement the tightening effect, Morpheus8, and Pellevé® (which helps further neocollagenesis and elastin production in and around the eye area).
