​How It Began.

Beauty Temple began in 2003 as the vision of founder Sara-ann Swanson. After working in a traditional salon environment on Newbury Street in Boston early in her career, she found herself longing for a more meaningful way to care for people. One that valued presence over pressure, connection over hurry, and well-being alongside beautiful results.

Following a season of travel and reflection, Olympia became home, and Beauty Temple began as a small private studio built around those values. Over the next two decades, the vision continued to deepen. What started as one person's way of working gradually revealed itself to be something much larger: a philosophy of care that deserved to be shared beyond one pair of hands.

In the spring of 2025, Beauty Temple found its current home and began growing into the collaborative sanctuary it had always been meant to become. Today Beauty Temple is now a team of caring professionals united by a shared purpose: to create experiences that help people slow down, breathe more deeply, and feel genuinely seen and cared for.

While each practitioner brings their own unique gifts, personalities, and specialties, we are connected by the same belief: Beauty has the power to nurture not only how we look, but how we feel.

This is more than a workplace. It's a shared vision and a place where we value taking care of ourselves just as much as taking care of others.
