Post Procedure Care

Post-Op Instructions: Following your Dermal Filler Treatment

o   Avoid aspirin and other blood thinning products immediately after your treatment as this thins the blood and causes bruising to last longer.

o   Ice the treated area(s) at least 3 times the day of treatment, 20 min each time. There is no harm in icing more than three times as this will help with swelling.

o   Swelling in the area(s) of treatment is normal and to be expected. Swelling typically lasts 48-72 hours.

o   Bruising in the area(s) of treatment is normal and to be expected. Bruising typically lasts 4-7 days. Areas such as eye trough’s and lips may stay bruised longer as these are more vascular areas. Arnica Montana, an herbal drug, can be taken 3-4 days after your treatment to help reduce bruising.

o   Alcohol thins the blood, and so will make bruising last longer.

o   Exercise is not prohibited. Vigorous exercise may make swelling worse after treatment, but it is not prohibited.

Avoid massage, facials, microdermabrasions, and dental appointments for 2 weeks after your filler treatment.

Post-Op Instructions: Following your Neurotoxin Treatment

o   Avoid any massage, pressure, or touching of the treatment area(s) for 4 hours after injection. These activities may alter the placement of the neurotoxin, causing undesirable results.

o   Avoid facials, waxing, and massage appointments for 24 hours after injection.

o   No straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise for 4 hours after injection. Light forms of exercise such as walking are permitted.

o   Small red mosquito-bite-like bumps will be present on the skin after injection. These will resolve and disappear within 30 minutes after injection.

o   If applying makeup after injection, use a brush to apply foundation or powder. Avoid placing makeup with a sponge, fingers, or applicator and rubbing the treatment site.

o   The neurotoxins, Botox, Xeomin, and Jeuveau will take 3-4 days to begin to work and 10-14 days for full correction to take place. Dysport begins to work within 2-3 days and takes 7-10 days for full results to appear.

o   Typically, your treatment will last 3-4 months. Schedule your next visit early to ensure availability!
