How Can We Help?

How long does the hair need to be to wax?

Hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long, or about the length of a grain of rice. If it is too short, the wax can not grab it. There is no need to trim if it is longer, as you may accidentally cut it too short.

Can you wax when on your period?

Absolutely! We do it all the time, and there is no need to feel uncomfortable. It is required to wear a tampon when waxing on your cycle. If you are not comfortable with wearing tampons, we are happy to reschedule you for another day.

How often should I wax?

Most areas of the body should be waxed every 4 weeks for best waxing results. Underarms and facial features can be waxed every 2-4 weeks. Waxing consistently will allow us to get the growth cycles growing together, resulting in a smoother, longer last wax. Most importantly, staying on a consistent wax schedule makes waxing less painful! Our wax only sticks to the hair, not to the skin, so the discomfort you feel is the root itself being pulled out. If you are waxing every 4 weeks, the root does not have the chance to thicken up.

Does it hurt?

Almost every client after their first wax declares "that wasn't as bad as I expected it to be!" If waxing hurt as bad as you expected, we would not be as busy with repeat clients as we are. While there will be some level of discomfort, hair is being pulled out by the root after all, we are trained and skilled to make it as least painful as possible. Your first time will be the most uncomfortable due to the hair root being thicker. Consistent waxing gets easier and easier each time! Some clients choose to take an ibuprofen at least an hour before. It is recommended to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and cannabis before waxing to reduce discomfort.

how do i care for my skin after waxing?

Swimming, tanning, intercourse, exercise, or anything that can cause sweat or irritation, should be avoided for 24-48 hours after waxing. Your pores are more open after waxing, making them more prone to sweat and bacteria to cause breakouts and irritation.
