Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, everyday clothing. During your session, you may undress to your level of comfort—you will never be required to remove all clothing. Sessions can be adapted if you prefer to remain partially clothed.

Do I have to fully undress?

No. Your comfort comes first. You may undress as much or as little as you prefer, and techniques will be adjusted to ensure an effective session.

How does draping work?

You will be professionally draped at all times. Only the area being worked on will be exposed, while the rest of your body remains covered to maintain privacy and comfort.

Is soreness after a massage normal?

Yes. Mild to moderate soreness (similar to post-workout soreness) can occur for 24–72 hours, especially after deeper or more focused work. This is a normal response as your body adapts.

Should I drink water before and after my session?

Yes. Staying hydrated supports circulation, tissue health, and recovery. It may also help reduce post-session soreness.

Can I talk during my session?

Absolutely. Some clients prefer quiet, while others prefer conversation. Both are completely appropriate, and your therapist will follow your lead.

How should I communicate during the session?

Please speak up at any time. Feedback helps improve your results. Let your therapist know about:

  1. pressure preferences
  2. areas of discomfort or focus
  3. positioning or temperature
What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Massage therapy supports both physical function and stress regulation. It may help:

  1. reduce pain and muscle tension
  2. improve mobility and circulation
  3. support recovery from overuse or injury
  4. promote relaxation and reduce stress

Many clients also notice improved sleep and overall well-being.

Do you offer add-ons during sessions?

Yes. We offer optional techniques that can be incorporated into your session to further support treatment goals such as pain relief, improved mobility, and relaxation. There is no additional charge for add-ons—they are included as part of a customized session when appropriate.

What types of add-ons are available?

Cupping Therapy (Addison)

Uses suction to lift and decompress tissue, helping to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and target deeper restrictions.

Graston Technique/ Scraping (Addison & Courtney)

A targeted technique using a metal (or a similar material) instrument to address areas of restriction, improve tissue mobility, and support recovery from overuse or repetitive strain.

Hot Stone Therapy (Courtney)

Heated stones are incorporated to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and allow deeper work with less discomfort.

How do I request an add-on?

Simply let your therapist know before or during your session. Add-ons are incorporated based on your goals, preferences, and what will be most effective for your body that day.

Every session is fully customized to your needs—add-ons are used when they will enhance your results, not as an up-sell.

What if something feels uncomfortable?

Let your therapist know immediately. Adjustments can always be made to ensure your comfort and safety.
