No, all treatments are by appointment only.
There's really not much for you to do except relax. You'll begin by lying face up on the massage table, but the only thing that comes off are your shoes. I'll provide you with an eye pillow, a small pillow for your head, and a bolster under your knees for comfort. Many clients enjoy the extra warmth and relaxation of a blanket.
The treatment room should feel soothing as well, with soft lighting, candles and lamps, nature scenery around the room, and soft music in the background.
We'll begin with a few cleansing breaths and I take it from there with energetic body scans and sending Reiki energy to your chakras and other points for healing and relaxation, such as your head and ears, shoulders, knees, and feet. Reiki can be conducted with light hand placements or hands-off if you prefer. I encourage you to ask questions at any time and let me know your preferences.
Most clients describe a Reiki session as very relaxing and soothing, many with benefits that extend for hours or days beyond the session. Reiki energy goes where it is needed in the body and continues to help you even after the session ends.
You simply sit on the seat in the salt booth, and I will turn on the halogenerator to begin your 10-15 minute session. The halogenerator makes some noise as it grinds and disperses micronized salt particles into the air. If you're new to halotherapy (dry salt therapy) we'll start with a low concentration of micronized salt. If you use the salt booth regularly, we'll adjust the sessions over time to provide you with your maximum comfort and benefit level. I will stay with you - especially your first time - for a few minutes until you let me know that you are comfortable and settled.
Once your session begins, just relax and breathe normally. As you inhale the salt-infused air, it will begin to clear your respiratory system. It frequently clears congestion from allergies and you'll be able to breathe easier.
If you are also in the salt booth to assist with managing eczema or psoriatic conditions, be sure those areas of skin are exposed to the salt air during your session.
The halogenerator will turn off automatically once your session ends and you may exit the booth. It is normal to cough as the salt does its job. There will always be a box of tissues available for your use.
The salt booth is sanitized between each use.
You use a salt booth every day, there is no maximum number of times per week. In fact, the more frequently use the booth, the greater the benefit. Many clients who suffer from seasonal allergies will go several times per week during allergy season for symptom relief. Others with chronic conditions such as COPD, asthma, or Psoriasis, may start with 3-4 times per week until symptoms improve, and then reduce the number of visits to once or twice per week to maintain the benefits of salt therapy.
