Hippocrates- the name
“Hippocrates” was a greek physician and philosopher that argued the body has a natural healing power, and was more significant than any other physician's interventions. He laid the groundwork for cellular medicine.
“Hippocrates” was traditionally regarded as the “father of medicine” and coined the phrase… "the body has the ability to heal itself."
Modern Research- concentrated platelets
With advancements in biomedical engineering using your own blood cells, cellular medicine continues to investigate biological mechanisms of restoration and resilience. Who is a candidate for c-PRP?
Almost everyone is a candidate for c-PRP
Because the client’s own blood is being drawn and used there is no risk of reaction or allergy to the product as with some other filling agents or cosmetic procedures.
There are clients where the procedure would be an absolute contraindication. Those would include: Platelet Dysfunction Syndrome, Thrombocytopenia (ITP, TTP), or Septicemia.
There are also relative contraindications that would include: Hemoglobin <10g/dL, Platelet count <105/uL, Leukemia, or recent fever or illness. These would require a provider consultation.
It is recommended that any use of Corticosteriods and NSAIDS be discontinued 2 days prior to procedure and do not resume use until 8 days after injections due to the interference in the desired response.

- Cosmetic Cellular Medicine Association certified training in platelet rich plasma treatments for male/female genitals, skin, and tissues, Nashville, Tennessee.
