Unlike a typical shampoo service, a head spa is a treatment, not just a wash. It includes intentional massage techniques, scalp care products, steam therapy, and time dedicated to relaxation. It's about health and healing, not just hygiene.

A blow out is not included as part of the head spa service and must be requested as an add on service if desired. After a head spa service, we towel dry the guest's hair. Blow drying is not recommended post service as it can counteract the benefits of the service. Focusing on deep scalp cleansing, nourishing, and hydrating the scalp and hair, blow drying can strip away that moisture and potentially cause heat damage. Additionally, blow drying can disrupt the natural oil production stimulated during the treatment. Although it is not recommended, you may add on a rough blow dry to be performed at the end of your service if you would like.

Our technicians are experienced with all types of hair from thin & fragile, thick & coarse, wavy, curly, porous, to even bald! The head spa is a scalp treatment. As long as you have a scalp, we can give you a head spa. We only ask you to make sure that we have proper access to the scalp. We cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these obstruct access to the scalp and pores.

For every head spa appointment, we require an additional 10mins for the consultation, privacy to get settled on the spa bed, and the follow up. For example, if you are booked for a 90min Signature session, please plan to be in our salon for a total of 100 minutes.

We are located at 1721 Black River Blvd N in Rome, NY 13440, inside of Just Teasin' salon. The main door to the building is on the left hand side of the building. Once inside, you'll go up the stairs (elevator available), and through the PINK door to Just Teasin' salon; housing 2 estheticians, 1 licensed massage therapist, 1 licensed lash technician, and 6 hair stylist's.

Contradictions to receive the head spa are as follows and are not limited to;

1. Anyone who has undergone surgery or medical treatments to the neck or head in the past 6 months
2. Immediately after surgery whether medical, reconstructive, or cosmetic.
3. 2 weeks after any kind of beauty lasering service
4. Swelling, bumps, or severe edema of undetermined reason
5. Burns or hot flashes immediately after sunburn
6. Diabetes or any related heart diseases
7. Cardiovascular disorder, a history of thrombosis, or a severe headache
8. High or low blood pressure
9. High fever, diarrhea, or abdominal pain
10. Anyone who has experienced an epilepsy seizure within the last year
11. Immediately expecting mothers
12. Any kind of diseases/viruses, especially those related to the skin. Those with fungal scalp conditions, contagious skin disorders, open sores, or lice should consult a dermatologist for appropriate care.
