FAQ

What is Lymphtic Massage?

Lymphatic massage, also known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), is a gentle, specialized treatment that supports the body’s lymphatic system and natural detoxification process. Using light, rhythmic movements, this technique encourages the flow of lymph fluid, helping to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and assist in the removal of waste and excess fluid from the body. Unlike traditional massage, lymphatic drainage focuses on the superficial lymphatic pathways just beneath the skin rather than deeper muscle tissue. This makes it especially beneficial for post-surgical recovery (including liposuction and tummy tuck), fluid retention, inflammation, and overall wellness. Lymphatic massage is also deeply calming to the nervous system, supporting both physical healing and relaxation.

How often do you need lymphatic massage?

Lymphatic session frequency depends on how efficiently your body moves fluid on its own. Everyone is different — there is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Recommendations are always based on your body, your lifestyle, and your goals. You’re never expected to come in more often than you need

Active & Healthy Lifestyle

If you exercise regularly, stay hydrated, and move throughout the day, your body already supports good lymphatic flow. Occasional sessions for maintenance. About once every few months or as needed

Occasional Swelling or Sedentary Periods

If you sit often, have mild swelling or bloating, or are inconsistently active, your system may need extra support. A few sessions closer together (such as once per week for a short period), then spacing out as things improve.

Frequent Swelling or Limited Movement

If you experience ongoing swelling, heaviness, or are mostly sedentary, fluid may return more quickly. More consistent sessions at first (2–3 times per week), then reducing frequency as your body improves.

Post-Surgical Care

After surgery, the lymphatic system is temporarily disrupted. More frequent sessions early on (often 2–3 times per week), then tapering as healing progresses.

A Simple Way to Think About It:

It’s not about how often you come in, it’s about how quickly your body refills fluid after a session.
