That’s a really good question! I originally wanted to be a medical doctor, but life circumstances led me in directions that did not coincide with this desire. I worked a lot of different types of jobs, including elder care, housekeeping, and retail, until I returned to school at 26 to study massage therapy.
I love to read and write. I read many things, from current events and op-eds to deep dives into subjects such as history, philosophy, all sciences - even architecture. I also consume large numbers of light novels with historical romance themes, sci-fi novels, and all manner of fantasy books. I highly recommend Mark Twain’s autobiography.
I actually do not watch a lot of TV or see a lot of movies. If I have seen it, it was either a special interest (Twister, anyone?) or an invitation from a friend. I spend most of my free time reading, playing video games (no FPS though), walking or hiking with friends, playing with my dogs, and checking out local music, art, and food.
My practice is open to all bodies, period. I am queer, plus-sized, and autistic, and I refuse to let the space I share with you feel oppressive. I do my best to accommodate and I am here to help! I am also here to provide a quiet space for you to unwind in.
Other things you should know:
I don’t talk much during sessions. I speak when I need to and I will speak if spoken to, but you’re paying for a massage, not happy hour. You can ask me not to talk at the beginning of the session. I’m not offended at all!
I only massage with food grade grapeseed or fractionated coconut oil. There are no added scents or preservatives. I also do not keep nut based snacks in the room, nor do I consume other foods in it. I do have small packages of Oreos for my hypoglycemic clients available.
I usually play soft jazz music during sessions, but you are welcome to request whatever you like. The Alexa has the microphone disabled during sessions to protect your privacy.
