Class Descriptions

Hatha

Enjoy a morning of slow flow warming up the body, mind and spirit for the weekend. The focus is in connecting with the body versus perfecting a pose, learning what your body needs in the moment, which shifts day to day. Leave feeling refreshed and ready to step into your day. A great class for beginners as well as practiced Yogis.

YIN

Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues in the body allowing for healing beyond the surface of muscles. This is achieved by holding poses on the mat, with support from props, for longer durations of up to 5 minutes. Beyond the physical, this practice challenges you to be fully present with your mind, body and spirit.

NIDRA

This is a restorative and deeply calming class that meets on the last Sunday of every month. Class size is capped at 5 students, and you are guaranteed hands-on adjustments and relaxing massage if you desire. Instructor Geena is a licensed massage therapist in addition to a skilled yoga teacher.

Yoga Nidra is the practice of meditative yogic sleep. Please feel welcome to arrive in your most comfortable clothing, bring an eye mask or pillow- anything that aides in your relaxation. We will begin class by setting up for a supported Savasana. Once comfortable students will be guided through a meditation of spatial awareness, progressive muscle relaxation, breath at rest and intention setting. At the end of the practice students will be gently called back from their 'sleep' with gentle movement cues and music. This practice has been scientifically studied and has proved to be an effective way to aid the healing processes of our bodies.
