Spray Tan Prep

We want your spray tan service to be flawless! A spray tan is 50% up to the artist, 25% your skin health, and 25% your prep and aftercare.

  1. You can dress to your comfort level during your service - Example: Bathing Suit, Your Own Undergarments, Your Birthday Suit, Etc.

  1. We offer pasties, a disposable thong, and a hair net complimentary. But if you don't want tan lines - you are welcome to be bare and beautiful!

Shower 8-12 hours or more before your appointment using a mild body wash with little to no fragrance. It is important NOT to shower the same day of your appointment, if possible.

We recommend body washes with natural ingredients - the cleaner the better. The following products may create a barrier on your skin that may interact with the development of your spray tan.

Please AVOID the following and stop using any active skin care ingredients 7 days before your spray tan:

  1. Dove
  2. Olay
  3. Tree Hut
  4. Bath and Body Works
  5. Bar Soaps
  6. Mineral Oil based products (baby oil)
  7. Alcohol based products
  8. Retinol and Skin Resurfacing products
  9. Accutane and other acne products

Exfoliate your skin using a mitt, dry brushing, or a coarse washcloth 24-48 hours before your appointment. Focusing on dry areas such as the knees, ankles, and elbows. Exfoliating the same day of your appointment can alter the way your body absorbs the solution and your overall development.

Shaving and Waxing should be done 24-48 hours before your appointment. DO NOT shave the same day of your appointment.

Skin should be free of makeup, perfume, deodorant, oils, and lotions for your service.

Remove jewelry before your appointment.

Wear your hair up if possible.

Please wear or bring loose fitting pants and loose shirt/sweatshirt to your appointment.

DO NOT wear jeans, leggings, or a dress after the tan. This helps avoid any skin to skin contact or transfer of your tan onto other materials. Wearing tight clothing can cause lines/development issues.

Moisturizing and staying hydrated is SO important leading up to your appointment and after. Drinking plenty of water and using moisturizer leading up to the 24 hours before your appointment is a must for a long lasting tan.

Nails, hair, massages, lashes, waxing, and most other beauty services - Must be completed 24 hours or more BEFORE your tan.

Your tan should be the LAST service you have done.

Spray Tan Aftercare

Aftercare is everything when it comes to your spray tan—it’s what protects your glow and makes it last. Proper care helps your tan develop evenly, fade naturally, and stay looking smooth instead of patchy or dry. Hydrated skin = longer-lasting color, while things like long showers, sweating too soon, or harsh products can break it down faster. Think of it this way—your tan is only as good as the care you give it after you leave 💕

Here's the tea on aftercare:

  1. Avoid any tight clothing or undergarments for 24 hours -- as they could cause development issues.

  1. Avoid touching/rubbing skin as tan develops. Avoiding skin to skin contact is best.

  1. Avoid water until your designated rinse time.

Your first rinse should be lukewarm water ONLY. Do NOT use soap & pat dry. Rinse until bronzer is off/water is clear. You must use your hands to guide the bronzer off your skin to avoid streaking. Do not exfoliate your skin/rub too hard. Be gentle!

  1. Do not apply makeup for at least 4 hours after you have rinsed.

At the 24 hour post spray mark, you can soap shower and wash your hair. This is when you can go back to all normal activity.

MOISTURIZE 2X Daily! Avoid - alcohols, mineral oil, & fragrance.

  1. Avoid swimming & hot tubs for 24 hours. When you do get in water, rinse salt water, pool/hot tub chemicals off your body when able. Pat dry.

  1. Minimize heavy exercise or sweating for 24 hours.

Skip exfoliating until you are ready to take off your tan.

Schedule your next tan at least 2 days before an event!
