In 2019, I was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis, leading to complete hair loss that profoundly impacted my mental health. During my struggle with stress and anxiety, I discovered yoga, which became a transformative force in my life. Yoga played a crucial role in alleviating my stress and anxiety through meditation and breathing exercises, while sound bowl therapy offered me emotional relief and clarity. These practices nurtured my healing journey and enhanced my mental and spiritual well-being.

Embracing self-love and my true identity, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), an additional 30-hour certification in Restorative Yoga, and a 20-hour certification in Yin Yoga. This path inspired me to assist others in their growth and healing, leading me to obtain a further 40-hour certification in sound healing. This journey culminated in the opening of Bald N’ Bougie Yoga studio, where I aim to share and celebrate the well-being that surrounds us all.

I was first introduced to yoga as a child, but it wasn’t until high school and college that I began practicing regularly to help manage anxiety. Years later, while my husband was deployed, yoga became my anchor—and my passion—leading me to complete my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Ahimsa in April 2025.

When I’m not teaching or on my mat, you’ll usually find me outdoors—hiking, camping, running, or scuba diving. I live in Villa Park with my husband, Alex, our dog, Tacoma, and our two cats, Mona and Bo Bobbi Bobcat, and I try to live by the motto:

“Treat others how you wish to be treated, and treat yourself the way you expect others to treat you.”
