To ensure the best results and a smooth healing process, please review and follow these instructions carefully before your appointment at CheyBae Aesthetics.
General Pre-Care for All Services (Brows, Lips, Eyeliner)
• You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of your appointment.
• Avoid all blood-thinning medications and substances for at least 72 hours prior, including aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Tylenol, and sleep aids (unless prescribed—please consult your doctor).
• No caffeine or alcohol 24 hours before your appointment. These can increase bleeding and reduce pigment retention.
• Please avoid sun exposure, tanning, or sunburn on the treated area for at least 1 week prior—tattooing over compromised skin is not possible.
• Do not tint, wax, or thread your brows for at least 7 days before your brow appointment.
• Breakouts or active acne on or near the treatment area may require rescheduling. We cannot tattoo over irritated or inflamed skin.
• If you’ve had Botox or filler, it must be done at least 4 weeks before your appointment to ensure your facial features have settled. We recommend waiting 10+ days after PMU before receiving any injectable treatments.
Lip Blush Pre-Care
(Please note, the same pre-care guidelines mentioned above still apply, with a few additional important steps, specific to lips)
• If you’ve ever had a cold sore—even just once—it’s extremely important to take antiviral medication like Valtrex or Acyclovir starting three days before your appointment and continuing for five days. Lip blushing almost always triggers an outbreak, which can lead to pigment loss or delayed healing. Please consult your doctor for a prescription and dosage instructions.
• Start gently exfoliating your lips five days before your appointment using a sugar scrub or soft toothbrush to remove dry or flaky skin. Follow up with a hydrating lip balm daily to keep your lips soft and smooth. Do not exfoliate the day of your appointment to prevent irritation.
• Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Well-hydrated lips hold pigment better and heal more evenly.
• If you’ve recently had lip filler, you’ll need to wait at least four weeks before scheduling your lip blush appointment to ensure the area is fully healed.
• Avoid using retinols, glycolic acid, or chemical exfoliants around the mouth for at least one week prior to your appointment.
Lash Line Enhancement Pre-Care
Along with the general pre-care:
• Remove contact lenses before your appointment and plan to keep them out for the duration of the procedure.
• Please arrive without any eye makeup, including mascara, eyeliner, or shadow.
Eyelash Extensions Pre- Care
• Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes. No mascara, eyeliner, or eye creams — especially oil-based products.
• Avoid caffeine at least 2–3 hours before your appointment. It can make your eyes flutter and make it harder to apply the lashes.
• Do not wear contact lenses during your appointment; bring glasses if needed.
• Avoid curling your lashes the day of your appointment. Natural lashes should be left as is.
• Shower before your appointment if possible — you’ll want to avoid water and steam for 2 hours after your lashes are applied.
Brow Lamination Pre- Care
• Do not wax, thread, or tint your brows for at least 72 hours before your appointment.
• Avoid using retinol, AHAs, or exfoliants on the brow area for 3–5 days before your service.
• Keep brows free of makeup, oils, and lotions on the day of your appointment.
• If you’ve recently had Botox or filler around the brows or forehead, please wait 2+ weeks before your brow lamination.
Lash Lift Pre-Care
• Arrive with clean lashes, free of mascara or eye makeup.
• Do not use lash serums, oils, or heavy creams on or around the eyes for 24–48 hours prior.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses during your service.
• Do not curl your lashes beforehand — let them rest in their natural state.
• If you’ve had a lash lift or tint recently, please wait at least 6 weeks between treatments to prevent over-processing.
