Frequently Asked Questions

How long does my hair have to be?

The hair needs to be at least as long as a standard grain of rice. This is typically around 2-3 weeks of uninterrupted hair growth. Hair that is too short will break and will cause excess discomfort with poor results. It is best to have more hair rather than short, recently shaven hair.

Is there anything that could prevent me from being able to get waxed?

Typically, no! Waxing can be performed on anyone regardless of skin type & hair texture. Contraindications can include active bacterial, yeast, or STI infections, Active Herpes lesions, Lichen sclerosis. Those taking Accutane or using Retinols may experience skin lifting during a face wax. Be mindful to include any and all health conditions or medications to ensure your skins' needs are met.

What kind of wax is used?

Professional hypoallergenic hard wax is used for the face and sensitive body areas such as brazilian and underarms, due to its gentle properties. Hypoallergenic Soft/Strip wax is used for services such as legs and arms.

How is my body positioned during bikini services?

During any bikini wax, you will put your legs in a figure 4 position and switch them halfway through. For the backside wax, you will simply lay flat on your stomach.

No awkward positions here :)

Can/Should I get waxed if I'm on my menstrual cycle?

Yes you can! You may experience more sensitivity during this time. Otherwise, it does not impact the service as long as you wear a tampon or menstrual cup/disk during the service. Organic tampons and feminine wipes are provided in the studio if needed.

Can/Should I get waxed if I'm pregnant?

Yes you can! Pregnancy hormones can make waxing more sensitive. All products used will be safe for you & baby, and we will work with your body positioning to make the experience more comfortable. We also recommend getting at least one bikini wax prior to the final "baby wax" in case you have some sort of adverse reaction.
