I’m Sarah Szyjewski, owner and stylist behind Salon 87.

With nearly two decades in the beauty industry, my career has been built on a passion for beautiful, customized hair and a commitment to never stop learning.

I graduated from VICI Beauty School in 2007 with certifications in both Cosmetology and Barbering and began my career at an AVEDA Concept Salon. Over the next 10 years, I immersed myself in advanced education, working alongside talented artists and learning from world-renowned leaders in the industry.

In 2015, I completed an intensive series of courses at the AVEDA Resource Center and earned my AVEDA Master Colorist certification. I continued expanding my education through multiple BRAVA advanced education courses, building my expertise across all areas of cosmetology.

In 2017, I opened Salon 87 with a vision of creating a more personal, one-on-one salon experience—one where education, creativity, and genuine connection come together.

My dedication to color continued in 2021 when I completed the REF Master Colorist Program, further advancing my knowledge of color theory, formulation, and modern color techniques.

For me, being a stylist is about more than creating beautiful hair. It’s about listening, understanding what makes each guest feel their best, and creating a look that fits their lifestyle and personality.

My goal is simple: for you to leave Salon 87 feeling confident, beautiful, and completely yourself.
