Neurotoxins

FAQS

What Are Neurotoxins and How Do They Work?

Neurotoxins act as a "pause button" for the muscles that cause wrinkles. When making expressions—like squinting or frowning—our nerves tell our muscles to contract, which eventually creases the skin.

Neurotoxins work by temporarily blocking that signal. Once the muscle relaxes, the skin on top has a chance to smooth out, giving a refreshed, well-rested look.

When Can I Expect Results and How Often Should I Get Neurotoxins?

Depending on the product used, initial changes may become obvious between days 4-7, with full results occurring about 2 weeks after treatment!

What Are The Benefits of Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins offer a safe, temporary treatment that provide a refreshed, well-rested appearance by softening the lines caused by everyday facial expressions. Beyond immediate cosmetic improvements, these injections serve as a powerful preventative tool, helping to stop deep wrinkles from forming in the first place. Neurotoxins can also help provide subtle changes to enhance your features naturally.

Am I a Candidate for Neurotoxins?

Anyone can be a candidate for neurotoxins! Neurotoxins can be used on all skin types and ideal candidates for neurotoxins include anyone looking to soften dynamic wrinkles—those lines that appear when you smile, frown, or lift your brows. Specific placement and amount of product is determined with a thorough assessment by the provider!

This treatment is also perfect for "pre-juvenation" in your 20s or 30s to prevent deep lines from forming, as well as for those seeking a more refreshed, well-rested look by smoothing existing creases.

While neurotoxin treatments are widely safe, they are not recommended for everyone. Specifically, individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding should postpone treatment, as well as those with certain neuromuscular disorders like ALS or Myasthenia Gravis. Additionally, you should avoid injections if you have an active skin infection or cold sore at the treatment site, or a known allergy to botulinum toxin or albumin.

Are There Side Effects For Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxin treatments are generally well-tolerated, with most people experiencing only minor, temporary effects like slight swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site that resolves quickly. While rare, some may experience a mild headache or temporary asymmetry as the product settles. More significant side effects, such as a heavy brow or eyelid droop, are uncommon and will naturally resolve as the treatment wears off. Following proper aftercare is the best way to ensure a smooth recovery and balanced, intentional results.
