FAQ

I have never done Pilates. Can I take a group class? How do I get started?

The best place to start is with a private session. This allows us to understand your body, any injuries, and your goals so we can build the right foundation. From there, we’ll guide you into a personalized mix of private and/or small group sessions based on what works best for you. Our Pilates Group Classes are for participants of all levels. Beginners are always welcome! All classes are taught with thorough detail so everyone feels included. We offer modifications if a movement is too challenging and progressions to give you the option to work harder.

I have back pain, osteoporosis, scoliosis, joint replacement or an injury. Can I take a group class? Is Pilates right for me?

Yes—many clients come in with back, neck, or joint discomfort. Sessions are customized to support your body safely while building strength and stability so you can move with more ease and confidence. We require a health intake form to be filled before taking any type of session at the studio. We do recommend a private session before attempting a group class if you have any limitations that have prevented you from doing your normal activities. Our priority is to provide an appropriate workout for your body. Once we assess your injury and see how your body performs during a workout, we can decide if simple modifications can be offered in a group class or if it makes more sense to give you a more specific workout for your body in private sessions.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, form-fitting clothing works best so you can move freely, and I can guide your alignment. Leggings and a fitted top are ideal. No shoes are needed—just grip socks if you have them. You are also welcome to work out barefoot. All equipment is sanitized after every session.

How many participants are in a group class?

Our group classes can accommodate up to 4 participants. We keep the classes small to give more individual attention. Each station includes a personal Reformer, Fuse Ladder and Combo Chair. This is more than just Reformer Pilates it is a full equipement experience.

I am worried about feeling nervous or out of place. Am I too old for this? Can I really do this?

You’re not alone—most people feel a little unsure at first. Our studio is designed to feel comfortable, supportive, and completely judgment-free. There’s no pressure to look a certain way or keep up with anyone. The focus is on helping you move better, feel stronger, and gain confidence in your body.

Every session is guided by experienced instructors who are focused on creating a positive, personalized experience.

You are never too old to start—our most senior client is 91. Pilates can be adapted for every age and stage, and we’ll guide you every step of the way

Yes, you’ve got this!

Is Pilates only for women?

Not at all. Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates and was originally practiced by men. In fact, over half of our clients are men. Pilates is highly effective for building strength, improving mobility, and supporting performance in other activities. It’s especially helpful for athletes and anyone looking to move better, prevent injury, and feel stronger overall.
