Continuing Education At Hearts & Hair

At Hearts and Hair, we believe education should be shared, not guarded. Whether a stylist works in our salon or not, learning is something we b elieve belongs to the entire community.

Our owner, Dre, has been behind the chair for over 24 years and has always invested in continuing education as a way to become a better stylist, a better educator, and a better human in this industry. Over the years, Dre has attended countless classes and hair shows, including large scale events like IBS, Premiere, Presley Poe and Friends, the American Beauty Show, and many in salon education opportunities across the country.

One of the biggest takeaways from those experiences has never just been technique, it has been connection. Networking with other stylists who care deeply about their craft, who stay curious, and who want to grow behind the chair has always been one of the most valuable parts of education.

At the same time, it has become clear how inaccessible education can be. Between the cost of classes, travel, lodging, and time away from work, many stylists simply cannot afford to leave town for continuing education, even when the desire to learn is there.

That is why Hearts and Hair is opening its doors as a host salon for education in Northern Colorado.

This space exists to bring quality education closer to home. To host educators from near and far. To support stylists who are passionate about learning but need accessible options. And to create a place where knowledge can be shared without competition or gatekeeping.

We also welcome educators who are looking for a salon to host their classes, whether they are established educators or stylists stepping into education for the first time with something valuable to share. If you believe in community over competition and growth through education, there is space for you here.

This page is dedicated to stylists. Below, you will find upcoming classes and events designed to support continued learning, connection, and growth within our local and surrounding stylist community.

Class with Angel Cardona On

Febuary 1St, 2026

This class is for stylists who crave both technical refinement and creative freedom behind the chair.

Angel Cardona has been immersed in hair and fashion for as long as they can remember. What began in men’s grooming quickly evolved into cutting, coloring, and styling for all humans, all textures, and all expressions. That early foundation shaped Angel’s approach to hair, grounded in structure, balance, and intention, while still leaving room for bold creativity.

As the owner of ACoLab Salon, Angel blends precision cutting with a strong eye for symmetry and individuality. Their work is deeply influenced by editorial styling and creative direction, translating high-fashion concepts into wearable, confidence-boosting hair that still honors real life. Every cut, color, and style is designed to enhance the person wearing it, not overpower them.

In this class, Angel will share their approach to thoughtful cutting, creative vision, and adaptability behind the chair. You’ll gain insight into how to assess face shape, hair texture, and lifestyle, then translate that information into hair that feels intentional, modern, and personal. Expect education that bridges the gap between technical skill and artistic expression, with tips that can be applied immediately in the salon.

Angel is known not just for their skill, but for their ability to teach in a way that feels approachable, inclusive, and inspiring. This class is about more than hair, it’s about connection, confidence, and continuing to evolve as a stylist while keeping the work fun and fulfilling.

Whether you’re early in your career or years behind the chair, this class is designed to leave you feeling re-energized, informed, and creatively lit the hell up.

Pixie Shag Look & Learn with Angel Cardona

This Pixie Shag Look & Learn is designed for stylists who want to feel more confident, fluid, and creative when working with short hair, especially textured pixies and modern shag-inspired shapes.

Pixie cuts can feel intimidating, and when you add movement, softness, and intentional texture, a lot of stylists freeze. In this class, Angel will break down how to approach a pixie shag with balance, structure, and flow, showing how to create shape that feels lived-in, wearable, and customized to the individual—not stiff or overworked.

This is a Look & Learn demonstration, allowing you to observe Angel’s full thought process in real time—from consultation and sectioning to cutting, detailing, and finishing. The focus is on understanding why certain choices are made, not just copying steps, so you can confidently apply these techniques behind the chair with your own clients.
