PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Preparing for Your Sugaring Appointment

Proper preparation helps the sugar paste grip the hair effectively, reduces unnecessary skin irritation, and helps provide a smoother result.

1. Hair Length

For best results, hair should be approximately 1/4 inch (5–7 mm) long.

  1. If you recently shaved, allow approximately 1–2 weeks for the hair to grow, depending on your individual hair growth.
  2. Do not shave immediately before your appointment.
  3. Do not tweeze, wax, or use an epilator before your appointment.
  4. Do not cut or trim the hair unless instructed by your service provider.
  5. If you are unsure whether your hair is long enough, please contact us before your appointment.

2. Avoid Other Hair Removal Methods

Please avoid the following before your appointment:

  1. Shaving
  2. Tweezing
  3. Waxing
  4. Epilating
  5. Depilatory creams

Removing the hair shortly before your appointment may result in hair that is too short for the sugar paste to grip effectively.

3. Exfoliation

Please avoid exfoliating the treatment area for 24–48 hours before your appointment.

Avoid:

  1. Body scrubs
  2. Sugar or salt scrubs
  3. Exfoliating gloves
  4. AHA products
  5. BHA products
  6. Glycolic acid
  7. Salicylic acid
  8. Strong exfoliating products

Over-exfoliating before sugaring may make the skin more sensitive and increase the possibility of irritation.

4. Retinol & Retinoids

Please inform your service provider if you use:

  1. Retinol
  2. Retinal
  3. Tretinoin
  4. Adapalene
  5. Other retinoids
  6. Prescription acne medications
  7. Prescription skin medications

These products may increase skin sensitivity.

Do not discontinue prescription medication without consulting your healthcare provider.

5. Skin Products Before Your Appointment

On the day of your appointment, please arrive with clean, dry skin.

Avoid applying the following to the treatment area:

  1. Body lotion
  2. Body oil
  3. Body butter
  4. Heavy moisturizer
  5. Petroleum jelly
  6. Perfume
  7. Deodorant on the treatment area
  8. Products containing a high amount of oil

These products may interfere with the sugar paste's ability to properly grip the hair.

6. Sun Exposure

Please avoid excessive sun exposure before your appointment.

Do not receive sugaring on skin that is:

  1. Sunburned
  2. Very red
  3. Peeling
  4. Burning
  5. Painful
  6. Significantly irritated

If you have a sunburn or significant skin irritation, please contact us to reschedule.

7. Heat & Exercise

Before your appointment, avoid activities that may cause excessive heat, sweating, or skin irritation, including:

  1. Sauna
  2. Steam room
  3. Hot tub
  4. Very hot showers
  5. Intense exercise immediately before your appointment
  6. Prolonged exposure to excessive heat

8. Brazilian & Bikini Services

For Brazilian or bikini sugaring:

  1. Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing.
  2. Avoid tight underwear or tight clothing whenever possible.
  3. Do not apply lotion, oil, or heavy creams to the treatment area.
  4. Please inform your service provider if you are menstruating.
  5. If you have a rash, open wound, irritation, or suspected infection, please reschedule.
  6. If you have any concerns about your skin condition, contact us before your appointment.
