Often, Performance and Horsemanship are separate goals in the horse industry. At MHN Performance Horsemanship we believe you need both to succeed.
Performance
Horse showing is our Passion here at MHNPH. This is what keeps us motivated and excited for the future with our horses. We compete in Ranch Horse Shows which include events such as Reining, Rail, Trail, Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Riding, and more! These events also encourage well roundedness in horse and rider, producing good horsemanship as a result. Horse showing requires a higher level of commitment from riders, but can be extremely rewarding.
Horsemanship
"Beginner Riders focus on the Intermediate, Intermediate Riders focus on the Advanced, and Advanced Riders focus on the Basics". It's easy to think that Horsemanship is "the easy part" of riding horses. But truthfully, whether your goals are to compete or just improve, the key is to get back to the basics. Horsemanship is the key to having success no matter your goal.
Longevity
It does little good to have laid a good foundation with good Horsemanship, and reached the level of Performance to have our horses last only a few short years in the show pen. MHN Performance Horsemanship emphasizes instruction and training practices that will help you help your horse stay performing for years to come. While we cannot guarantee longevity due to genetic and other factors, we promote practices that will help your horse last.
A little more on our Levels Program
New in 2026
Meant to help guide you from beginner to advanced, our Levels Program is a well rounded system meant to help you learn and know where you're at no matter your level.
This will also debut with our new Subscription lesson plan that lets you attain lower rates when you make larger commitments.
Additionally, Starting in September of 2026 we also have a Leadline Program with 2 levels, open to ages 5-8. This program helps your student safely learn how to be on and around horses early.

Our Program has a lot to offer. Here are some Frequently asked questions to help you guide you in getting started in our program.
How do I purchase a Lesson?
Scroll down on this page to Individual Lessons and select "Book Now" on your desired lesson type. This will allow you to select a time on one of our instructors schedules. You may use the promo code "INTRO" for 50% off your first lesson.
If both parties decide that it is a good fit, then MHNPH will have you join our Lesson GroupMe, recommend a subscription, and get to work improving your rider's skills!
How do I purchase a Subscription?
After purchasing and completing your first lesson, scroll below to one of two Subscriptions sections. One is for if you are using one of our horses, and one is for if you are bringing your own. Select the number of desired lessons per month. After purchasing your Subscription you will then use the Individual Lesson section, and book with the lesson type that matches your Subscription. **Make sure to select your package as payment for your lesson when you complete booking!**
Following your initial purchase, the subscription will come out every month automatically, normally between the 25th-27th of each month.
What is the Makeup Policy?
We require 24 hr notice to receive a makeup, and offer 2 makeups per quarter (ex: Jan-Mar, Apri-Jun, etc.). Lessons Must be used in the month purchased.
How do I cancel or reduce the lessons on my Subscription?
To cancel your Subscription please contact your instructor. Must give 30 day notice to fully cancel subscription. If you are just reducing the number of lessons on your subscription, you will need to let your instructor know by the 15th of the month prior. (Ex: Inform your instructor by the 15th of June to reduce lessons for the month of July).
