While we will do an in-depth consultation in office, here are a few things to help you prepare for your session and provide overall client safety & results.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT YOU MUST
Avoid the sun: Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for 6 weeks. Tanned or sunburned skin raises your risk of burns and color changes. Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen daily. The damaging effects of UV exposure occurs even with the use of sunscreen or clothing coverage.
Skip self-tanners: Stop using fake tans or self-tanning sprays at least 2-3 weeks before your visit
Stop waxing and plucking: Do not wax, pluck, thread, or use hair removal creams for 3 to 6 weeks. The laser targets the root, so the follicle must stay intact.
Pause harsh skin care: Stop using active skin products like retinols, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid on the treatment area a few days prior.
Shave the area: Shave the treatment area 24-36 hours before your session (or the same day, if advised). This removes surface hair so the laser energy targets the follicle below without burning the skin. Buzzers do not get a close enough shave, please use a razor. *** There is no shaving preformed in office, hair that is not shaved will not be lasered & your appointment may be canceled.***
Arrive with clean skin: Show up with clean, dry skin. Do not apply lotions, makeup, perfumes, oils, or deodorants to the area on the day of your treatment.
It is important to follow your technicians instructions. Following both before treatment & after treatment instructions will greatly reduce your risk of side effects.
