1. Hair Length Matters

Hair should be about ¼ to ½ inch long.

Too short and the wax won’t grab properly; too long and it can increase pain and irritation.

2. Gentle/Mild Exfoliation

Scrub the area 1 day before waxing.

This removes dead skin cells, preventing ingrown hairs and helping the wax grab smoothly.

3. Skip Caffeine & Alcohol

Avoid these before your appointment.

They make your skin more sensitive and can make the waxing process feel more uncomfortable.

4. Pain Relief

Take Tylenol 30–60 minutes before if you’re nervous.

Reducing discomfort helps you relax and makes the waxing experience easier and less stressful.

5. Hydrate!

Drink plenty of water.

Well-hydrated skin is softer, more elastic, and less prone to irritation or redness.

6. Avoid Strong Skincare

Skip OTC retinol or acids 2–3 days before.

These products can thin or irritate the skin, making waxing more painful or causing sensitivity.

7. Wear Comfortable Clothing

Loose clothes are best.

They prevent friction on freshly waxed skin and allow the area to breathe and heal.

8. Plan Around Your Cycle

Waxing is often easier after your period.

Hormonal changes can make skin more sensitive, so timing your appointment can reduce discomfort.

9. Shower Before You Come (If you can)

Arrive with clean, dry skin.

  1. Clean skin allows the wax to stick properly and ensures your appointment is hygienic and effective.
