NEW CLASSES

All level Yin Yoga Class with Kimberly Fox (new teacher)

Sundays at 6pm

Yin Yoga is a gentle yoga where postures are held for a longer time (3-5min) to allow the deeper connective tissue to release ... it is a slow and meditative practice. This is a class accessible to most of us for stretching, breathing deeper and offering ourselves relaxation. It is a calming, uncomplicated class allowing the body to unfold gently which leads to meditation.

All level Classic Yoga Class with Robin

Fridays at Noon

This all levels class will focus on coordination of breath and movement leading into classic Yoga postures. With an emphasis on body awareness and alignment, modifications will be offered so participants can work at their own level. The class will end with a deep relaxation and short meditation.

Gentle Yoga Class with Robin

Tuesdays at 530pm - Wednesdays at 1145am & Thursdays at 10am

This class is accessible to most of us for stretching, breathing deeper and offering ourselves relaxation. More time is spent in the slow warming of the body. A conscious focus on ease and alignment allows you to enjoy the fullness of the experience. A longer cool down brings us mindfully back to the mat and helps us find that place of calm held deep inside. Sometimes a Gentle Class can be just the thing needed for your day!

Manage Stress - Boost Digestion - Increase Mental Focus

Balance Mood and Energy - Improve Sleep

Why do I want to learn how to breathe my body when my body breathes itself?”

Great question! And, yes. Breathing is automatic. So automatic in fact, that when we are physically or emotionally stressed, our breath changes. It gets shorter and more frequent. The message carried on this breath pattern is delivered to the brain, which responds with the hormones of stress in the likes of cortisol and adrenaline. Good stuff when needed for the energy of survival, or grief, or positive stress like a new job. Life can be and often is ... stressful. However, when the short breath pattern becomes habitual and chronic stress is the baseline experience in the body and mind, we suffer. It can show up as high blood pressure, or weight gain, or bronchitis or even the inability to fight off a simple cold.

This Breath Workshop teaches the techniques of yoga breathing, also known as pranayama. It is designed to regulate and balance the body, mind and spirit as it delivers the counter hormone for that felt sense of calm, peace and full executive function of the brain.

You are invited to use your own breath to regulate your nervous system. We begin by turning inward, followed by a slow Sun Salutation with the intention to release physical stress and curate sustainable self-awareness. Then, in a comfortably seated position you will learn, through understandable explanations, the benefits of a breath practice, ending with the practice itself. In total you will learn three different pranayama techniques: one for balance, on for energy and one for down regulation.

Scientific research confirms the positive influence of breath control or breathing the body. Sign up today to truly understand your breath as the first line of resource!

NEW SERIES IN FEBRUARY

Wednesdays 10:00am - Immune System Care - 6 week Series

(pre-register & pre-pay)

Started Wednesday February 4th - $120 per person *Must Pre-register

Drop In $25 per person/per class *Must Pre-register

Immune Care Series

Join Deanna for a six-week series to boost your immune system. Each week, we will cover a different topic related to the immune system/yoga practice.

  1. Breath Comes First: Conditioning the lungs and respiratory tract with proper breathing, releasing the fascia of the rib cage and diaphragm, working with the breath to reduce stress, create heart rate variability, assist in detoxification
  2. Balance the Nervous System: The nervous system is intimately tied to the immune system. When we balance the nervous system, we reduce cortisol levels and decrease inflammation, improve vagal tone and communication between the brain and body organs, relax the fascia to facilitate energy flow and promote lymphatic system health. Learn about the HPA axis and its importance in immune health.
  3. Boost the Lymphatic System: Learn the importance of the lymphatic system and how yoga helps decrease lymphatic congestion and promotes detoxification. The lymphatic system relies on our good breathing and movement to operate effectively. Learn major areas of lymphatic activity in the body and how yoga prevents stagnation in these areas.
  4. Boost the Glymphatic System: The glymphatic system (brain's waste clearance) and the immune system are deeply connected, with the glymphatic system acting as a crucial pathway for immune surveillance and waste removal, draining toxins and immune cells from the brain. Dysfunctional glymphatic drainage can trigger inflammation and contribute to neurodegenerative diseases by failing to clear harmful proteins and allowing immune cells to overreact. Keeping the glymphatic system healthy also promotes healthy sinuses and reduces headaches.
  5. Gut Connection: Your gut and immune system are deeply connected, with about 70% of immune cells residing in the gut, where trillions of microbes (the microbiome) train, regulate, and influence immune responses against pathogens while preventing attacks on your own body. Yoga helps promote healthy digestion, heals the smooth muscle of the digestive tract and releases stagnation from the digestive organs.
  6. Enhance Circulation: The circulatory and immune systems are deeply intertwined, with the circulatory system (heart, blood, vessels) acting as the highway that transports immune cells (like white blood cells) and signals throughout the body to detect, fight, and clear pathogens, while the immune system protects the circulatory system from infections and buildup, ensuring smooth blood flow and overall health. Through movement and breath, yoga helps promote healthy circulation.
